Best spots to see the Sunset in Cambridge:

what to see in Cambridge

1. Castle Mound

Castle Mound is one of our all-time favourite spots to watch the sunset in Cambridge! It is also one of the most popular places with Cambridge residents’. This mound has some great importance in the history of Cambridge. It was once the site of the Roman town of Duroliponte, originally an Iron Age hill fort. Nowadays this mound offers expansive views over the rooftops of the town and surrounding countryside. So is the perfect spot to watch the sun setting over the city.

2. OtherSyde Bar

The OtherSyde is the Bar at Cambridge Museum of Technology. This bar has a large outdoor seating area as well as a balcony facing north onto the River Cam. This balcony is where you want to be seated by sunset time. It is such a wonderful and comfortable way to end the day.

Lastly, but not least is the River Cam. We at Let’s Go Punting, watch many sunsets along the River Cam. It is a great spot for those who want to see the different colours of the sky contrasting against the deep blue of the river. We will never get tired of this view.

You can sit by our meeting point near the punts, or alternatively stand at Garrett Hostel Bridge. Wherever you are seating along the river, it will always be gorgeous.
