New Year, new adventures – time is passing by so quickly we don’t even realise it. 2019 brings fun events back to town along with some new, exciting happenings. In this blog post, we collected 6 things you should defo put on your Cambridge Bucket List this year.

1. Punting
We keep mentioning this; punting is a must-do acitivity in Cambridge. If you haven’t been punting, you don’t know our lovely town entirely yet! Jump on one of our wonderful tours and take a look at the beautiful scenery while your Tour Guide is telling you about the interesting history of the famous College Backs.

2. Saucony Cambridge Half Marathon
The Marathon will take place on Sunday March 3, 2019 and all entries sold out in record time. However, you can still secure your place on the start line via one of their Charities, or through the Business Challenge! In fact, you can take advantage of their fantastic runners offers (including a great Shared Tour ticket deal with Let’s Go Punting).

3.  Visit Vanderlyle
After closing The Hole in the Wall, MasterChef finalist Alex Rushmer decided to open another cool place in partnership with Chef Lawrence Butler at 38-40 Mill Road, where they will serve incredible food made from the best ingerdients. The Varderlyle Reastaurant will open in spring 2019. Tasty!

4. Strawberry Fair
One of Cambridge’s most popular events is completely free, volunteer-led and has been going for over 40 years. The music and arts event welcomes locals in Midsummer Common to celebrate their vibrant and creative city every beginning of June.

5. May Ball
One of our favourite celebrations is when Cambridge Students finally let their hair down and celebrate their successful academic year at the May Ball (in June). The spectacular fireworks are the breathtaking from our punts. We offer private chauffeured punts for up to 12 people each every year so you can make the most of the Cambridge May Week Fireworks and Celebrations.

6. Cambridge Oktoberfest
Live music, German beer and food in a large Tent are all you need. Oktoberfest takes place yearly at Jesus Green in a tent with space for 2000 people. Entrance is free on the first and the last day; amazing!

Hope you enjoyed this post and you’ll have an amazing 2019! 🙂
