The Best Autumnal Things to Do in Cambridge

Autumn has so much to offer. The magical colours that cover all the trees, the falling leafs in the golden sunshine – nature is calling us during this magnificent time of the year. In this post, we collected the top 5 Autumnal Things to Do in Cambridge.

1. Autumn Punting Tour on the River Cam

The College Gardens are incredibly beautiful, especially druing this season. The best time for an autumn tour is definitely early in the morning or later in the evening, when we can enjoy the view in the soft sunhine.

2. Cycling, cycling, cycling…

One of the most popular activities in Cambridge – jump on your bike and enjoy the ride around the city centre or in Jesus Green; a relaxing and healthy way of exploring in autumn!

3. Be creative!

When I was a child, I used to collect everything nature has to offer in autumn: chestnuts, leafs, pine-cones, and so on. With a little bit of creativity, I could make real artworks from the things listed above. Whether it’s embarrassing to admit or not, I still like to decorate my home with anything autumn-thamed when the time comes.

4. Don’t forget the Pumpkin!

Pumpkins are not only good for carving scary and mean faces at Halloween – we can also eat them! Have you ever tried Pumpkin Soup, Pumpkin Spice Muffins or Pumpkin Pies?  We also need to mention the Cambridge Pumpkin Festival here, which has involved pumpkin inspired activities across the city three years down the line. We hope there is a 2018 edition to come!

5. A Simple Autumn Walk

…is all you need to clear your mind. If you ask me, Cambridge is the most beautiful in autumn. You can choose one of the Famous College Gardens or parks, the town centre or the riverside. Don’t forget to take a camera to catch the best autumnal moments!
