We are now looking for permanent and temporary Punt Chauffuers to work for Let's Go Punting for the 2018 season.

If you are articulate, hard working, energetic and generally of a positive outlook then perhaps you would enjoy a season of punting along the college 'Backs'. Although not essential languages would be considered to be an advantage and you will need to be physically able to punt as much as 10 miles in a day (on the busiest days). Whilst doing that you will need to brush up on your history because you will be expected to deliver a entertaining spiel regaling tales of alumni, architecture and the academic history of the jewel in Cambridge's crown....the University! Daunted? Don't be, training will be provided which will bring your punting skills up to scratch in no time and your customer service will improve with every tour.

Please note you must have eligibility to work in the UK and be available to work weekends and holidays.

Full time position available: Administration, Bookings and Social Media Role.

Location: 30 Milton Road, Cambridge / Quayside, Cambridge

Duration: 6 - 12 months with potential for permanent contract. 5 days a week including the Weekend. (Two consecutive days off per week. To be agreed.) 

Start date: March/April 2018. Closing date for applications: Friday 16th February 2018. 

Starting salary: From £20,000 (pro rata)

We are looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to join our team at Let’s Go Cambridge. 

The successful applicant will initially be involved in the running of Lets Go Punting - both in the office on Milton Road and on the river at Quayside, Cambridge. 

We are looking for a motivated individual who wants to take an active role in the following areas of the business:

Advance Bookings & Enquiries:

1. Dealing with customers over the phone and completing sales, taking phone payments and answering queries.
2. Responding to customer emails, closing sales and sedning out invoices.
3. Logging bookings on the calendar and on the accounting system (KASHFLOW).
4. Logging ticket sales on KASHFLOW.
5. Booking picnics / walking tours / tour extras.
6. Liaising the the punting station manager / cashier on the day with booking information.

Your Role and Responsibilities:

Working pattern: 40 Hours per week
After an initial training period we are looking for someone to work 3 weekdays in our office on Milton Road dealing with advance bookings and enquiries, running daily administration tasks and liaising with river management. The remaining 2 weekend days will be split between the office (duties as above) and our river location (Quayside and La Mimosa Landing Stage). 

General Administration:

Opening mail and filing paperwork.
Keeping staff paperwork up to date.
Stationery and supplies ordering. 

Social Media:

Managing our social media accounts (including but not exclusively: Facebook / Instagram / Twitter). To include posting photographs of groups, running competitions, adverts and polls. 
Writing blog articles to be posted on the website.
Responding to queries and direct contact via social media platforms. 
Growing Let’s Go Punting’s profile on other social media platforms. 

On site river role (weekends):

Assisting the punting station manager. Role to include, but not exclusive to, walking groups, liaising with bookings, assisting with providing booking extras (i.e picnics), chasing late arrivals and cashiering. 
Taking photographs for social media and promotional purposes. 

Who we are looking for:

Previous experience in the tourism industry, administration and sales is a plus but not essential as full training will be provided.
A highly motivated individual with a can-do attitude.
Proficiency in English, any other languages are a plus.
Ability to work under time pressure and in stressful situations & be able to demonstrate excellent problem solving & organisational skills.
A positive individual who is enthusiastic about providing the best customer service.
Good phone manner.

Training:

The successful applicant will receive full training in all aspects of our business including, if required, training in punting chauffeur, tout and cashier roles within the business in order to fully understand the operational working of the business.
